Rules: Rules vary from place to place and situation to situation. You can easily make up your own rules and have everyone agree to them before play actually begins. If you feel more comfortable you might want to look up either the Ivy League rules or the West Coast rules to get some idea of the kinds of rules that are often adhered too. Beer pong tables can vary in regulation size and dimensions.
The cool thing about beer pong is the ease of set up. Basically, you only need a beer pong table, which you can make yourself, or you can buy (my personal preference is the foldable beer pong tables so they can fit in your closet when you’re done.) But other than the table, you just need keg cups, a few ping pong balls, and some beer.
