Whales in the Dominican Republic

The Sanctuary of Humpback Whales in Samana Bay in the Dominican Republic is one of the most beautiful and interesting tours in all the Dominican Republic.
Every year from the middle of January to the middle of March, thousands of Humpback whales come to Samana to give birth. Also after they give birth, they spend the next year in the same area mating.
These giants of the sea travel from the polar area of the North Atlantic down to the warm Caribbean Sea. There is nothing as awe inspiring as seeing a huge male humpback perform amazing stunts like sky rocketing out of the water to attract a mate.
