Why because we live free?? I’d rather live here more then anywhere else in the world. Better health care, better way of life, and did I mention freedom?

No… and there are so many problems with this question:

    1) Seeing as how the USA is located in NORTH AMERICA, you should call this country The United States of America.

    2) That being said, how can a chunk of land be stupid?

The government lies to us and the religious leaders have their flocks completely brainwashed, and just take a close look at who’s sitting in the big chair at the White House – he’s got so many Americans convinced that his actions are sensible and sadly many just go along with it.

  47. Despite the lack of education in this country, Americans show a surprising amount of common sense when taken together, and are as capable as any other people of determining right from wrong when given all of the relevant facts. However, Americans are kept ignorant of a good deal of the relevant information by the so-called "liberal" media, much to the detriment of our Republic. Words are not proof. Facts often differ from what we are told. As a people, we are no smarter or stupider than others, but in being kept ignorant, our thought, our discourse, and thus the available topics and possibilites for public discussion, are dumbed down. Public schools, from the point of view of the ruling class, exist only to teach you what you need to know to follow directions from your boss. Other "educators", meaing the media, which earns its living from the big advertisers (corporations) whose ads support their papers and tv stations, are not in business to lose money on (expensive) hard-cutting, investigative reporting, which very well might expose that very same advertiser’s malfeasance or crime(s). It would be VERY ODD if the opinions and choice of stories (the filler between the ads) in the "news" did NOT reflect the views and opinions of the advertisers.
PS. That Amierica is "the best" is a myth designed to make you feel better about living here. America is not the best, but then neither is any other country. We are not the most free, the most violent, the most capricious, the most decent, the most anything, except maybe, because of our ignorance, the most easily convinced that we are mankind’s best hope, or more easily convinced that if it’s wrapped in the American flag, says it’s Christian, and speaks English, it can’t possibly be fascist. We are kept ignorant because we are more easily controlled that way, more easily led, more apt to believe in silly myths and less able to use our minds for critical thought. Americans used to be, in the days when a more "liberal" education was stressed, more cynical of what "the government" says, and more protective of their rights. They saw their rights not as something that a government allows them, but something that the government has no business in. "Liberal" education took as its driving philosophy the notion that teaching farm-boys just enough so that they can run the machines and read their directions wasn’t enough for citizens of a Republic. A great Nation requires a citizenry educated in civics, the sciences, history, the arts and literature, the world of ideas, some of which were captured in the very books which were read by our founders and the ideas that inspired greatness then, that were being kept from the very people who ought best to know it, a people who were to be their own soverigns, not ruled by kings or an aristocracy or a cabal of bankers and financiers. Such a citizenry cannot be kept ignorant, but at the peril to its liberty that has existed throughout the whole of history. The enemies of popular sovereignty are as they have always been: Kings, Aristocrats, Lords, Bankers and Financiers, and the thugs and insiders they hire to do their bidding. Being kept ignorant of our own history, not to mention world history, Americans do not know what signs to look for, we do not see the similarieties, do not recognize when the things that are being said now and done now are not so very different from things that have been said before and done before with results very different than what they have always promised. But being kept ignorant by a press and media whose business is not to inform but to entertain and sell ad space/time for a profit, profits no matter what is being said, has no incentive from those paying the bills to do otherwise. If the papers were to truly inform the workers, they workers might start getting silly ideas, like maybe they were entitled to some explanation as to why their wages were being cut while the executives just got huge salary increases from the greatest profits in the companiy’s history. The workers might just start asking some embarrassing questions, and that wouldn’t be good for business.
Just like on your tv set, truth and fiction become nearly indistinguishable from one another: It is only in the age of myth that huge masses of the American people believe that if it’s on the "news" it must be true, that if the President says it, it must be true, that if the "government says it, it must be true. In many respects, we are worse off than Russians were reading Pravda and Tass — at least they knew they were being misled and lied to; here, most of us haven’t got a clue. We will continue to believe in the myths created for us, as if we were children, and our leaders (our "parents") need to protect us from the truth. So we will not recognize reality or the truth when we see it, becuase we won’t see it, growing so unused to seeing it. But an educated citizenry could not fail to see the growing signs, and would be compelled to act, and that has always been a danger to the Ruling class.
