The Basic Facts of Wine
A subtle red wine will be overpowered by a spicy dish regardless of the type of the meat. In cases where it does not taste delicious to you personally, then don’t pair it no matter how often you have heard the rule. Try out different types of wine with your food.
You shouldn’t be reluctant to try a mild white wine with your steak: does it hold up or did the taste get lost? Experiment with a light red wine with fish and you will know from your taste buds if the rule for that wine beverage should be broken.
Discover if you enjoy a fairly sweet flavor in your wines or a dry wine (less sweet). Observe exactly how they interact with what you eat. If you don’t like the pairing or the taste of the wine it won’t matter what the year was or even how high priced the bottle it is not the ideal choice or a very good pair.
