Failure to appear??????
I got one of those camera tickets (an infraction) in ca, did not recieve the court date in the mail because I wasn’t living at home at the time. It’s in failure to appear mode now and I want to get this taken care of. Getting ahold of traffic court via phone is IMPOSSIBLE…it’s an automated system. Should I just show up to court?? I don’t have all the money right now but will they still let me make payments?? Please tell me what will happen if I go to court like say…tomorrow??
Yes you should go to the court, if you can’t see the Judge that day, the clerk will set up a date for a "Show Cause Hearing". When you are in front of the judge let him know that you did not receive the summons until after the date. Also tell him that you have some of the money but not all and let him know when you will be able to pay the balance, most likely with the economic conditions as they are he will let you make arrangements. Also ask him if he will left any suspensions of your driver license as you need them for work, school or whatever. The judge did this for me and I live in Michigan.
