Failure to appear??????
I got one of those camera tickets (an infraction) in ca, did not recieve the court date in the mail because I wasn’t living at home at the time. It’s in failure to appear mode now and I want to get this taken care of. Getting ahold of traffic court via phone is IMPOSSIBLE…it’s an automated system. Should I just show up to court?? I don’t have all the money right now but will they still let me make payments?? Please tell me what will happen if I go to court like say…tomorrow??
you should be able to " walk-in " during the courts business hours, morning best. At this time you can just pay the ticket or ask to see the walk-in judge. You will want to explane the out of state situation to the judge, as well as requesting a payment plan. You may get lucky and get a reduction in the fine from the judge. Dont be intimated by the judge, they are just there to help you through this.
Good luck, Mrgreg1
You have to go to court, even if you don’t have the money. Failure to appear will most likely result in the issue of a warrant for your arrest. Usually when you get a ticket they’ll give you a payment period-you don’t have to pay the fine right then and there.

Bring money! You’ll have a better chance of walking out. Otherwise, you failed to comply to the instructions of a court appointed representative. Your going to jail.

Been there, done that.
You need to show up in court and explain your case. Before your on the hook for the price of the ticket and court costs too.
In Chicago red light tickets are unbeatable, no one has gotten out of them.
Explain your finances, the judge should be sympathethic.

If the camera did not get a pic of your face (some do and some dont) you can argue that they have no proof that it was you driving and the ticket will either be deferred or terminated.
If nothing else just show up to court and explain your case, tell them you can pay a small amount now and work out a payment plan.
Depending on what your state laws are like (i know here its easy to get out of tickets) you can usually find a loop hole to either pay less or even just be excused from paying the ticket all together (if the entire license plate is not present on the photo, if your information is incorrect on the ticket, if you have legitimate proof and reason for not attending the first court hearing, etc.)

You should go to the courthouse and find the Clerk of Courts window, thats where you make payments, and find out what to do, they will issue a warrant if you dont, if you had an Atty. you could fight it, cause the cameras suck, they are banning them in some states
